Desperate Times

We are living in such desperate times, and the “signs of the times” are in full view for those who have “eyes to see.” Devastating wars, violent and destructive storms, whole communities wiped out by floods, fires, and riots; abject sinfulness running rampant among the people, wickedness is being perpetrated against innocent women, children, and little babies; false teachers and deceivers are proliferating—even in the churches, and God’s people are turning away from Jesus, and rejecting “the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”

I am reminded of what the LORD said to His disciples about the end of the world.

Matthew 24:3-14 “And as He sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto Him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of Thy coming, and of the end of the world?

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in My name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for My name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”

Nothing and no one can stop the Gospel from going forth! There will always be a remnant that will proclaim the Truth in every age. And regardless of what people believe about the Final Days, unless their faith is grounded in the Truth, it is futile to hold on to it.

As was spoken on 28 February 1993, “The only thing that you can hold on to is the fact that Jesus Christ died for you, and by His mighty power, God raised Him from the dead. And if you believe that in your heart, and claim Him as Lord, He will put the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, inside of you, to lead you and guide you into the truth!

Light will overshadow darkness,
and darkness will not be able to stand in the presence of God!”

God’s judgment is upon this Nation, and the whole world for that matter, and unless people truly repent of their sin and completely turn back to Almighty God, they will perish! And for Christians, the question that begs to be asked: Will you “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints?” Or will you carry on as usual, as if nothing is happening, while the world is on fire, and innocent people are being swallowed up by the Enemy?

William Tyndale was a very devoted and  faithful man of God, who gave his life for the cross of Christ. Today is the anniversary of his death 488 years ago. His only “crime”—he translated the Greek and Hebrew manuscripts into English so the “common man” could read it for themselves.

In these desperate and dangerous times for God’s Chosen People, I hope and pray they will call out to the true Messiah of Israel, who is the LORD Jesus Christ, the Son of the One, True, and Only Living God! It is only through Jesus, the “Prince of Peace,” that true and lasting peace will ever be achieved in the Middle East, and in the hearts of men!

Psalms 122: 6-9 “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.”

The world is falling apart before our eyes, and we need to get serious about our faith. There is coming a Final Test, and I pray we will be standing on the side of the LORD in the End. One final passage that I hope you will prayerfully think about.

Jude 1:20-25 “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,

To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.”

 

Addedum
7 October 2024 / 5 Tishrei 5785

Today is the anniversary of 7 October 2023 a day that should never be forgotten! It was one year ago today when Hamas terrorists waged the deadliest attack on the Jewish nation since the Holocaust. They slaughtered men, women, and innocent little children and babies, in the most horrific and unspeakable ways! They murdered more than 1,200 Israelis during the attack, and took some 240 hostages. One year later, Hamas is still holding over 100 men, women, and children, including seven Americans.

Another major event to remember is the Yom Kippur War, which began on 6 October 1973, when Egypt and Syria launched a coordinated surprise attack on Israeli forces in Sinai and the Golan Heights. The conflict raged for over three weeks before a UN-backed ceasefire took effect on October 24, with most fighting ending by October 26, after many lives were lost.

One thing that all of these wars and atrocities prove, is that the Wicked One is very evil, and has no regard for human life whatsoever. Coupled with all the debauchery and hatefulness taking place in our Day, helps me to understand why God’s anger is being kindled against those who hate Him. The punishment of those who reject His beloved Son, Jesus Christ, is certainly going to be very severe on that Great and Dreadful Day of the LORD, when He finally pours out His wrath upon this sin-filled world! Almighty God WILL have the Final Word!

Psalms 92:7-9 “When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:

But Thou, LORD, art most high for evermore. For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, Thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.”
