C. Read, a US Marine, was stationed in Hawaii during the “Iranian Crisis” of 1979. While she was on a temporary assignment to Yuma, Arizona, the Iranian students seized the American Embassy in Tehran, and took several American hostages.

A special friend of hers was on a six-month deployment to Japan and was prepared to go to Iran if so ordered. That was such an uncertain time in her life, and it was that distressing event that caused Read to see her great need for God.

About that same time, a young Marine, whom she had never met, approached her as she was leaving her barracks in Yuma. He handed her a Bible, and said, “Here, I think you need to read this.” He just walked away, and Read never saw him again, but she will never forget him! That brief encounter was a major turning point in her life, and in November 1979, Read committed her life to Jesus Christ in the deserts of Yuma.

She did take his advice, and began reading and studying the Bible, but that was just the beginning of her journey. Much has happened between now and then, and by God’s grace she will continue unto the End!

Some of My Thoughts

I hope you will take the time to listen to this message that I recorded on 29 May 2024 / 21 Iyyar 5784 / 36th Day of the Omer—the countdown to Pentecost! I mention several passages of Scripture, but I would like to highlight these important verses from Galatians. Galatians 1:6-9 “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from Him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:…

Do You Have “Eyes to See?”

25-26 April 2024 / 18 Nisan 5784 / 3rd Day of the Omer The Feast of Unleavened Bread Today is the third day since my family and I celebrated the Passover. It was a beautiful evening of remembering what God has done in providing His beloved Son as the  Passover Lamb of God who freely gave His precious Life so as to free us from sin, self, and Satan! Most Christian churches…

The Day is Approaching

I initially posted this on 19 April 2024, the anniversary of a very dark day in the history of the US. I added an Addendum in honor of Passover, the memorial of when Jesus gave His precious Life, so men might be saved. We are living in extremely difficult and trying times, but equally exciting, because the Day of the return of Christ is closer than it’s ever been! May God be…

The Battles Are Raging

Something To Think About Today 6 April 2024 The Devil’s seeds were planted long ago, ever since the Garden, when Eve listened to the serpent rather than God, and her husband failed to stop her! Satan has continued planting and cultivating his evil thoughts in the minds of men, unto this day. You just have to look at our society, and the kingdoms of this world, and you can see that Satan’s…

I WILL NEVER FORGET

2 March 2024, was Twenty-Nine years since I first published “My Testimony,” and I have been giving my book away ever since. It’s not a “best seller,” but it is an important book to read and believe, not because of me, but God! As a reviewer once said, “Walking with the Enemy by C. Read was definitely different from anything I have ever read before.” For those willing to read it, I…

A Day of Reckoning

A Brief Testimony by C. Read When I was in the United States Marine Corps, on a temporary assignment to Yuma, Arizona, Iranian college students took 66 hostages from the American Embassy in Tehran on that fateful day of 4 November 1979. Some hostages were released, but 52 Americans remained in captivity for 444 days, until their release on 20 January 1981—the very day Ronald Reagan was sworn in as the President…

The Day of Atonement! Yom Kippur 24-25 September 2023 / 10 Tishrei 5784 Romans 5:6-11 “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then,…

Day of the Trumpet

Today is an important Biblical Holy Day, know as “the memorial of blowing of trumpets” (a.k.a. Rosh Hashanah); and I encourage you to read my views (at the link provided) on why I believe God’s people should honor these special times and seasons, and seek to understand their great significance. Rosh HaShanah, which means “head of the year” in Hebrew, is the first of the High Holy Days (Leviticus 23:23-25). The sounding…

9/11

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7 It was on this Day Twenty-Two years ago that everything changed! (Please click on the link and read my 9/11 Message from 2022.) On that Day, lives were forever altered! Many souls were lost—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. May we never forget the brave men and women who gave…
