The Atonement

27-28 September 2020 / 10 Tishrei 5781 / Yom Kippur

Today is Yom Kippur, a.k.a the Day of Atonement, which is the holiest day of the year for many Jews and for those who commemorate this Holy day, which centers on atonement and repentance, and completes the annual season known in Judaism as the High Holy Days (or “the Days of Awe.”)

Most Jewish people do not truly understand the great significance of this very important Day, but neither do most professing Christians. My article, The Biblical Holy Days, gives a timeline of why I believe that the ultimate prophetic event was fulfilled on this Holy Day.

Luke 1:30 “And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

Luke 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

Luke 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of His father David:

Luke 1:33 And He shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of His kingdom there shall be no end.

Luke 1:34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that Holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.”

There are many different religions in this world, and some of them do not recognize Jesus as the Son of the Living God, but  the Serpent has been exposed, and the Messiah of Israel IS the only Way to be reconciled to the Holy Father in Heaven!

Romans 5:1-11 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

By Whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by Whom we have now received the Atonement.”

Mary was greatly blessed with the awesome privilege of carrying the Son God inside of her, and for those who are truly “born again,” His Spirit lives within us! Praise God the Father for His Son Who gave His life that we might live and worship Him, world without end! Amen!
