As I was reading the book of Hosea last night, I highlighted several verses that I hope you will think about when you are alone with the LORD.
The word of God is multifaceted, and is just as relevant Today, as it was yesterday! May God give you “eyes to see” and “ears to hear” what He is saying to His people in our day!
Hosea 2:23b “I will say to them which were not My people, Thou art My people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.”
Hosea 4:1 “Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.”
Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to Me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”
Hosea 5:6 “They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the LORD; but they shall not find Him; He hath withdrawn Himself from them.”
Hosea 5:15 “I will go and return to My place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek My face: in their affliction they will seek Me early.”
Hosea 9:12 “Though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, that there shallnot be a man left: yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!”
Hosea 10:12 “Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till He come and rain righteousness upon you.”
Hosea 12:6 “Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.”
Hosea 13:4 “Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but Me: for there is no saviour beside Me.”
Hosea 13:6 “According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten Me.”
Hosea 14:9 “Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.”
God’s “chosen people,” the Jews, have always been the instrument, and example, through which God shows forth His loving kindness and pleasure when His people love and honor Him, or His great displeasure and wrath when they refuse to obey Him.
God desires to extend His grace and mercy to all people, through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ—“the lion of the tribe of Judah,” who IS the only Saviour— there is no other! But you must submit to Him!
Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
Romans 2:6 “Who will render to every man according to his deeds:”
Romans 2:7 “To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:”
Romans 2:8 “But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,”
Romans 2:9 “Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;”
Romans 2:10 “But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:”
Romans 2:11 “For there is no respect of persons with God.”
Be it known: God is not pleased when His people join hands with false teachers, charismatics—preachers of “another gospel,” compromisers, those in aberrant life styles, murderers of the most innocent among us, and any other evil committed under the sun!
2 Corinthians 6:14 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”
2 Corinthians 6:15 “And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?”
2 Corinthians 6:16 “And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”
2 Corinthians 6:17 “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,”
2 Corinthians 6:18 “And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be My sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”
One last passage to seriously consider:
Psalms 92:7-8 “When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever: But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore.” Amen!
Our only hope is the LORD Jesus Christ, the One who has overcome this world! There is no other Saviour besides Him!
