Something To Think About Today 6 April 2024
The Devil’s seeds were planted long ago, ever since the Garden, when Eve listened to the serpent rather than God, and her husband failed to stop her! Satan has continued planting and cultivating his evil thoughts in the minds of men, unto this day. You just have to look at our society, and the kingdoms of this world, and you can see that Satan’s plants are in full bloom and greatly affecting many people and nations.
In many respects, Satan is no longer being hindered, but he has not yet been given full reign. The ministers of Satan are getting bolder everyday, but I am thankful for those who are willing to stand against sin and the wickedness taking place in our day!
We must realize we are no match against Satan, and only through the LORD Jesus Christ, working in us, and through us, can we make a difference for our children, and the innocent, unsuspecting souls who have been caught in the Devil’s trap!
It will not go well with those who are doing the Devil’s bidding, especially the ones who are willingly serving him! Sadly there are many who have unknowingly believed the Devil’s lies!
Isaiah 5:20 “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Isaiah 5:21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!”
God said, “The world would get more and more wicked as we see the Day approaching,” and IT IS, but not all have “eyes to see” and “ears to hear”what is really going on. Please consider this important passage.
Malachi 3:15 “And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered.
Malachi 3:16 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon His name.
Malachi 3:17 And they shall be Mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up My jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.
Malachi 3:18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth Him not.”
The Darker it gets, the brighter the “True Light” shines; and it will be more evident as to who is of God, and who is not. We must remember, only God can give us the ability to truly see the reality before us all—which is why we NEED the LORD!
God is watching, and what we do for Him is all that will matter in the end! There may not be much time left to do the “works of God,” especially considering what Jesus said about that when He walked the earth.
John 9:4 “I must work the works of Him that sent Me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.”
Satan hates God and His people, and we are a target of the enemy, but God has a dire warning for those who would hurt His “little ones!”
Matthew 18:6 “But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in Me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
Matthew 18:7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!”
I am reminded of this foundational passage from the Apostle Paul that we should commit to our memory, and strive to live out in our lives!
Ephesians 6:10 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.
Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephesians 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Ephesians 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Ephesians 6:19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
Ephesians 6:20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” (KJV)
My sincere question to my dear brothers and sisters in the LORD: Are you proficient in wielding the “Sword” that God inspired men to write down, as they were led by the Holy Spirit, for which many gave their lives?
If you know me, you know that I see “modern versions” of the Bible as dull and/or rusty swords, that have been infused with poison (some more than others), and which are not effective weapons in which to wage war against the Enemy of our souls.
The battles are raging, and we are living in such a time that we desperately need men (and women) who truly know God and His Holy Word, and can boldly stand up for the Truth, and refute the lies that have been spoken in the name of LORD!
God said that the children of the Wicked would be in the world till the time of the Harvest, and because the Devil knows his time is soon to come to an end, he has been very busy, even in churches, trying to lead God’s people away from Him!
I believe it is the confusion surrounding “secondary and tertiary issues,” that has enabled the acceptance of unbiblical and worldly practices during worship services in the Christian churches. The Enemy has gotten such a foothold in so many churches whereby the church is being controlled by the culture, rather than the other way around.
I know this is lengthy, but I hope you will take time to read and seriously think about Jesus’ words to His disciples.
Matthew 13:24 “Another parable put He forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
Matthew 13:25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
Matthew 13:26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
Matthew 13:27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
Matthew 13:28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
Matthew 13:29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into My barn.”
Matthew 13:36 “Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and His disciples came unto Him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
Matthew 13:37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
Matthew 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
Matthew 13:39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
Matthew 13:40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
Matthew 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth His angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
Matthew 13:42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 13:43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.”
Jesus said the gospel of the Kingdom would be preached all the way to the end, but the question that remains, will you, no matter what you may have to go through, be among those who are willing to proclaim and defend the true gospel, that Jesus Christ is the “only begotten Son of God,” the ONLY way to Heaven, and that He gave His Life so that whosoever would repent of their sin, and believe in Him, would have Eternal Life in Heaven one day?
The ways of the world, and unbiblical teachings have been seeping into the churches for some time, and I just can’t be silent! I hope you will seriously think about what I am presenting here, and as Paul said to Timothy, “Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.” (2 Timothy 2:7)
Many well meaning and sincere Christians highly regard C. S. Lewis and his fictional books, but I am so opposed to his concept that mere men can become a “little Christ!” I have noted quotes from his book, and also references from my article, “False teachers and little Christs,” which goes into greater detail as to why I consider C. S. Lewis a false teacher with heretical views.
“Mere Christianity,” by C. S. Lewis:
“There are three things that spread the Christ life to us: baptism, belief, and that mysterious action which different Christians call by different names — Holy Communion, the Mass, the Lord’s Supper.” (Page 36)
“In the same way the Church exists for nothing else but to draw men into Christ, to make them little Christs. If they are not doing that, all the cathedrals, clergy, missions, sermons, even the Bible itself, are simply a waste of time. God became Man for no other purpose.” (Page 106-107)
Apparently, Lewis favors the Roman Catholic Church, and as you compare his views with their official teachings, that fact becomes even more pronounced. Notably, C. S. Lewis mentions several other denominations in his book, but the Baptist denomination is strangely absent in “Mere Christianity.”
Please consider this statement from the Official Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church:
“For the Son of God became man so that we might become God.“80 The only-begotten Son of God, wanting to make us sharers in his divinity, assumed our nature, so that he, made man, might make men gods.“81
I was raised as a Catholic, but I was never taught this. After I left the Roman Church and joined the Baptist Church, I really started studying, and came to understand the great error in their teachings.
Here’s more of Lewis advocating for a false gospel and a false-Christ.
“It is not for us to say who, in the deepest sense, is or is not close to the spirit of Christ. We do not see into men’s hearts. We cannot judge, and are indeed forbidden to judge. It would be wicked arrogance for us to say that any man is, or is not, a Christian in this refined sense.” (Page 5–“Mere Christianity.”)
Such outrageous statements from a professing Christian! Please consider the Word of God, which will absolutely refute C. S. Lewis’ claim that “It would be wicked arrogance for us to say that any man is, or is not, a Christian…”
1 Corinthians 6:2 “Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?”
1 John 4:1 “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”
Luke 21:8 “And He said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in My name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.”
I am not a “little Christ,” but I am a follower of Christ Jesus, who is the only Messiah, the anointed One, Whom God hath sent into this dark and dying world to save our souls! If you are still with me, I have another Scripture I hope you will seriously ponder.
Malachi 4:1 “For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
Malachi 4:2 But unto you that fear My name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in His wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
Malachi 4:3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
Malachi 4:4 Remember ye the law of Moses My servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.
Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
Malachi 4:6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”
I hope this message will encourage you to stay close to the LORD God in His Word, and by prayer, especially in these evil days in which we are living!
1 Timothy 1:17 “Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen!”
God’s people will continue to be in my prayers, and if you are a follower of Christ, I truly thank you for yours!
With the love of Christ,
C. Read
