The Chosen of God

Today is a very special day, that goes unnoticed by most people, even the Chosen of God. I had posted this two years ago, and I would like to share it again. I have updated this article, and if you would like to read the orginal post, click over to “The Wall Was Finished.”

Nehemiah 6:15-16 “So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days. And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God.”

Considering the state of the churches, helps me to understand what caused the complete downfall of Jerusalem in the days of Nehemiah. Worldly wealth, power, and personal pleasure were more important than a true love for God, and the things God requires of His people.

Thus, God allowed the enemies of God to take over, and they were not being held back. “…The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates there of are burned with fire.” (Nehemiah 1:2)

[This not only reminds me of the devastating events of 9/11/2001, but of the horrific Day of 7 October 2023, when some 3,000 Hamas terrorist, enemies of Israel, brutally murdered over a thousand civilians (men, women, children, and babies) in such barbaric ways. The attackers took several hostages, and the links provided herein portrays the fate of the poor souls who were viciously ripped away from their homes and families, along with some of the heart wrenching stories of those tragic days.]

When Nehemiah heard of the desolation of the city of Jerusalem, the place where his fathers were buried, he “sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven.” May Nehemiah’s most earnest prayer, be our prayer too!

Nehemiah 1:5-11 “And said, I beseech Thee, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love Him and observe His commandments:

Let Thine ear now be attentive, and Thine eyes open, that Thou mayest hear the prayer of Thy servant, which I pray before Thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel Thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against Thee: both I and my father’s house have sinned.

We have dealt very corruptly against Thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which Thou commandedst Thy servant Moses.

Remember, I beseech thee, the word that Thou commandedst Thy servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations:

But if ye turn unto Me, and keep My commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set My name there.

Now these are Thy servants and Thy people, Whom Thou hast redeemed by Thy great power, and by Thy strong hand.

O Lord, I beseech Thee, let now Thine ear be attentive to the prayer of Thy servant, and to the prayer of Thy servants, who desire to fear Thy Name: and prosper, I pray Thee, Thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king’s cupbearer.”

I Am so grieved over what I see taking place in the churches, and among those who claim to be Christians. So many religious leaders are corrupt and compromised cowards, and they are leading people away from God, and what He commands! And I say, “Woe, woe, woe be unto those who call themselves Christians, yet do not follow Christ!

We desperately need a man like Nehemiah in our day! We need men and women who have a heart towards God, and is determined to stand for the Truth at all cost! And we must have “a mind to work” for God and His Kingdom, regardless of the opposition and persecution that will come. If God be for us, it doesn’t matter who is against us!

When the enemies of God heard that Nehemiah was given the resources and the authority to rebuild the wall and the gates of Jerusalem, “it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel.” (Nehemiah 2:10b)

The question that begs to be asked: “…when the Son of man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8b) May we examine our hearts, and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal any wicked way in us!

It is not God’s ordained order, but if men fail to carry out His will, He will use faithful women that are devoted to Him to fulfil His work. In fact, God chose Esther and Deborah to help save His people from the Enemy at very critical times in history, and we desperately need God to help us now! Without God and His favor, our “works” are a futile effort no matter how good and noble our intentions may be!

Jesus is coming back One great and dreadful Day, and He is looking for “a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” (Ephesians 5:27 b) May it be so, and I pray I will be unashamed on that Day!

Consider this important passage, which has been, but is yet to be.

Malachi 3:15-18 “And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered.

Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a Book of Remembrance was written before Him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon His name.

And they shall be Mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that Day when I make up My jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth Him not.”

Malachi 4:1-6 “For, behold, the Day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the Day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

But unto you that fear My name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in His wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the Day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

Remember ye the law of Moses My servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the Great and Dreadful Day of the LORD: And He shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”

One Day there will be no doubt as to who is of the LORD God, and who is not! But for those who are truly “born again” of God’s Spirit, He will show us who is true and who is false! This is why we desperately need the LORD, and must be attentive to His Voice!

According to the Scriptures, there is curse upon those who preach a false gospel! (Galatians 1:6-9) May God open the eyes of His people and reveal the truth to those who truly love Him and His dear Son, who gave His precious life to save us from our sin, Satan, and death!

May God raise those who are  “baptized into Christ,” (Galatians 3:27-28) whether they be Jews or Gentiles, male or female, bond or free to preach the “gospel of the kingdom in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” (Matthew 24:14) Amen!

Jesus said, the days before the “coming of the LORD,” and “the end of the world,” will be marked by great deception. “For many shall come in My Name, saying I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” (Matthew 24:5). May you have “eyes to see” and “ears to hear,” the true Gospel of Christ, as revealed in the Holy Scriptures, confirmed by the Holy Spirit, and witnessed by me on the night of 28 February 1993:

“Many things you have been taught here has been done in secrecy and in darkness. You have been taught truth mixed with lies, and the Lord says it will go on no longer!

…And the Lord is giving you a chance to turn from your sin. And He is so forgiving that He will not hold your sin against you if you repent. And if you do not, you will die!

…Everything you have learned here has been tainted with evil, and you can’t hold on to any of it. The only thing that you can hold on to is the fact that Jesus Christ died for you, and by His mighty power, God raised Him from the dead. And if you believe that in your heart, and claim Him as Lord, He will put the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, inside of you, to lead you and guide you into the truth!

Light will overshadow darkness, and darkness will not be able to stand in the presence of God!”

 “I Am come to send fire on the earth;
and what will I, if it be already kindled?”
Luke 12:29
