The Last Day

The Last Day
of the Feast of Tabernacles

13 October 2023 / 28 Tishrei 5784

I published the first part of this article on 6 October 2023 /  21 Tishrei 5784, the Last Day of the Feast, and I planned to finish it, but I awoke to the news of the horrific attack against the innocent people in Israel. It happened to be the 50th Anniversary of the Yom Kippur War, when the armies of Egypt, Syria, and other Arab nations carried out a surprise attack against Israel on the Day of Atonement, the most important Holy Day on the Hebrew calendar, 10 Tishrei 5734 (6 October 1973).

What we are seeing in Israel has been foretold in the Holy Scriptures, but it is so heartbreaking to see the death and devastation among the innocent souls, especially the little children, that are caught up in the middle of the unrest and horrible atrocities that are taking place!

Jewish and Arab nations have yet to recognize Jesus Christ as the Messiah, but it does not take away from the fact that He is the Son of the Living God (John 1:1-14). Jesus walked this earth for thirty-three years as a Jewish man who honored the Biblical Holy Days, and was the very embodiment of what those special days, times, and seasons represent.

John 7:37-39 “In the Last Day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink. He that believeth on Me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake He of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)”

John 14:16-17 “And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of Truth; Whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”

John 16:13 “Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.”

God still speaks, regardless of what some men say; however, we have a sly, calculated, and underhanded enemy that wants to deceive us about the truth, and distract us so we will dismiss the voice of God; with the ultimate objective of destroying us and our relationship with God. May you have ears to “hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches,” in these distressing and difficult times in which we live!

2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto Him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

Let no man deceive (wholly seduce) you  by any means: for that Day shall not come, except there come a falling away first (defection from the truth), and that man of sin be revealed (or disclosed), the son of perdition (physically, spiritually or eternal ruined); Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called (a) god, or that is worshipped; so that he as (a) god sitteth in the temple of (a) god, shewing himself that he is (a) god.”

The Greek definition for God in the Strong’s Concordance is: “a deity, especially (with G3588) the supreme Divinity;” which is why I see a deity or “a god” as a more accurate translation.

I realize this will disrupt people’s theology, and will go against what many have been taught to believe about the Last Days, but Jesus even warned that there would be great deception taking place before His return, and that many religious leaders would not be teaching the truth about “the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto Him.”

Matthew 24:23-28 “Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, He is in the desert; go not forth: behold, He is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.”

Something to Think About!

I believe the “Wicked One” is in the world Today, and everything is getting setup for THE anti-Christ–the lawless one who stands in direct opposition to the Messiah of Israel. Not in place of Christ, as some claim, but the anti-Christ is against the LORD Jesus Christ, and “will make war with the saints, and to overcome them:” and will be given power “over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.” (Revelation 13:7)

The “son of perdition,” is very active today, but in God’s timing the mask will be removed, and there will be no doubt as to who it is. There are so many misconceptions about the “rapture of the Church,” but contrary to popular belief, a Jewish temple in Jerusalem does not have to be rebuilt in order for the “time of Jacob’s trouble” to begin.

And as I have said to my children, and to those who will listen, no matter what happens in this world, do not ever deny the LORD Jesus Christ! God has promised that He will be with us all the way to the end, and I believe Him! I earnestly pray that my faith and yours will remain and be strong regardless of what trials or tribulations we may have to go through.

Hebrews 12:1-2 “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

I find it interesting that Today is the 487th Anniversary of when William Tyndale was put to death for His faith in the Lord Jesus Christ at the behest of the Roman Catholic Church! His famous last words before he was strangled to death and burned at the stake on 6 October 1536 was: “LORD, open the King of England’s eyes.” His “crime?” He translated the Hebrew and Greek manuscripts of the Holy Scriptures into the English language so the “common man” could also read and understand the Word of God!

After the martyrdom of this faithful servant of the LORD, God did open the eyes of the King of England, and Tyndale’s manuscripts became the basis for many subsequent English translations, most notably the King James Version of 1611. a.k.a. the Authorized Version.

God’s word has been under attack from the beginning, and Satan has been systematically undermining the true gospel of Jesus Christ. The Devil is guilty of mixing truth with lies in order to mislead the unsuspecting soul. The debates about the KJV and the modern versions have been ongoing, and we must not “agree to disagree” any longer; otherwise Satan will continue to pervert the Word of God, and lead God’s people astray.

I am not against modern versions as such, just the poison in them! Some versions are very subtle in their mixture (which can bring about a slow death), but others are so blatant in their corruption that I am outraged that they are even called a Bible!

2 John 1:7-11 “For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist (an opponent of the Messiah).

Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”

I would like to share this excerpt from the Preface of my book that I hope you will prayerfully consider. I especially would like to encourage those who do not yet know the LORD, whether they be Jew or Gentile, to call upon the name of the LORD God of Israel, while there is still time.

Excerpt from “Walking With the Enemy: A Testimony,” by C. Read

“Since my “translation” from darkness into His glorious light, I see that dates and events are important to God, despite the fact that my enemy tried to get me to believe otherwise. Looking back, I see how significant they really are.

The Ninth of Av (5759), aka Tisha B’Av, became very meaningful for me in the course of writing this book. According to tradition, the enemies of Israel destroyed both of the Jewish temples in Jerusalem on the ninth day of Av. Reportedly, the first temple was burned down by the Babylonians in the year 586 BC, and the second temple was completely destroyed by the Roman Army, under the command of Titus, during the Jewish revolt in 70 AD.*

These temples represented God’s presence in the midst of His chosen people, but praise God, we don’t need a man-made building for our heavenly Father to reveal Himself to us today. And if you will allow the LORD God to purify your heart, He may choose to make His habitation with you! But it can only happen through Emmanuel, the Messiah of Israel.

We are at a turning point in this battle for the souls of men, and it won’t be long before Jesus “will swallow up death in victory!” Praise the precious name of Yeshua HaMashiach,  Jesus Christ—the Anointed One!”

Some final thoughts to prayerfully consider from the Word of God:

John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.”

John 6:44 “No man can come to Me, except the Father which hath sent Me draw him: and I will raise him up at The Last Day.”

Acts 5:30-32 “The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, Whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with His right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. And we are His witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, Whom God hath given to them that obey Him.”

Today is the Day of Salvation! Forgiveness comes through Jesus Christ, all because of His great sacrifice when He gave His precious life so that men might be saved. Don’t wait for the Judgement Day to know the truth, because there will be no turning back then! May we all be prepared for The Final Test, should we be required to go through it.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”
